We interview author Lloyd Mullins to discuss his historical fiction novel "A Rare and Dangerous Beast." We cover the basics of the story -- a young immigrant from Russia comes to the US via San Francisco in the mid-1800's, finding adventure in the old West from the Civil War to ranching to Native American family life to being a deputy sheriff. We also discuss his research methods, writing style, and some of his adventures in traveling the area in his pickup. It was a fun conversation. (No spoilers)
