Social media is flooded with advertisements for popular obesity medications. But how do consumers avoid being scammed into purchasing knockoff versions that may not be effective or even safe? Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration decided to prohibit mass compounding of some weight loss medications, but it could confuse people more than ever about their options.
