The Merola Opera Program in San Francisco gives aspiring singers (as well as coaches and stage directors) a chance to hone their skills and make the transition from student to full professional. Their first concert, with extended scenes from four operas is tonight at Herbst Theatre - and will be repeated outdoors on Saturday, at Yerba Buena Gardens.
