In this exclusive episode, former Arsenal defender and current Norwich City first-team coach Ryan Garry sits down with the Pink Un to share his remarkable journey through football—from Premier League promise to international coaching roles.
Ryan began his professional career at Arsenal, rising through the academy ranks to make his senior debut in the League Cup against Sunderland in 2002, followed by a Premier League debut versus Southampton in 2003. But just as his career was taking off, a long-term injury forced him onto the sidelines for four years.
After a move to Bournemouth in 2007, Ryan played several seasons before retiring in 2011 at just 27 due to a persistent nerve issue in his leg. He quickly transitioned into coaching, starting as Bournemouth’s first-team coach and defensive coordinator.
Since then, Ryan has coached across all levels—including England’s youth national teams—and spent time abroad with Lommel SK in Belgium. In this conversation, he opens up about the highs, the setbacks, and what he's learned along the way.
