Charlie Justice is the President & CEO of Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce (TBCC) and joined host Nanette Wiser in studio to talk about his first few months leading TBCC, keeping up the great work done by Robin for a decade! events and issues they are tackling. With him was their new communications/marketing lead Kennedy LAST Powell. In addition to beach renourishment, ribbon cuttings as new and old businesses opened, we touched on some of their recent efforts including the Glazer Family Grants awarded to local beach businesses Round 3. His Beach Briefs newsletter is informative and fun to read!
(1) TBCC members had the opportunity to join a timely virtual discussion with Congresswoman Kathy Castor, a key advocate for environmental protection and climate action in the U.S. House of Representatives. During the Zoom event, Rep. Castor provided valuable insights on current legislative efforts surrounding offshore oil drilling, environmental safeguards, and the potential impacts on Florida’s coastline.
(2) Growing partnerships and meetings! TBCC hosted their 2nd Annual BBA Member Bridging Connections Luncheon in partnership with the Bluffs Business Association and it was a fantastic afternoon of connection and collaboration! Members from across our beach communities came together to network, share ideas, and strengthen partnerships that help our local businesses thrive.
(3) The Tampa Bay Times published an op-ed  on drilling hat retired U.S. Air Force Colonel Jim Heald and I submitted. Read it here.
(4) Time is running out to weigh in and urge our elected officials to do the right thing regarding Enhanced Premium Tax Credits. If Congress doesn't take action, over 100,000 of our neighbors will see their health insurance skyrocket to unmanageable levels. We hope you will learn more and get involved by CLICKING HERE
 (5) TBCC is also concerned about keeping the music alive at local restaurants and hotels. The City of St. Pete Beach has several important ordinances in the works that you should be paying attention to. Most recently, the City Commission discussed a proposed revision to the city's noise ordinance. Read more here.
(6) Battle for the Beaches restaurants brought in tons of new business from both beach and other locals, many first time guests at the participating restaurants.
(7) It's Taste of The Beaches Time, and this year's non-profit beneficiary is Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Tampa Bay. October 3rd KICKOFF @ Horan Park
