The Wilderness: When Healing Does Not Come

There is a quiet, lonely space in grief that comes long after the initial shock has faded. It is the wilderness, a place where the expected healing has not arrived, and the timeline you anticipated has crumbled. This is my story of that place, a journey made more complex by a body that had also become a wilderness. While grappling with emotional loss, I was also fighting to heal from FND, a neurological condition with no clear recovery path. This is the story of grieving a life I could not live and a body that felt like a stranger, and how the story of Jesus' own time in the wilderness became a guide for finding purpose not in the outcome, but in the process itself.
