Psychotherapist Analyzes D4vd's Alleged Predatory Pattern With Celeste

Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott brings her clinical expertise to an examination of the alleged behavioral patterns prosecutors have described in the case against David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd. Charged with first-degree murder with special circumstances, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and mutilation of human remains, Burke has pleaded not guilty. His attorneys maintain he is innocent.

Prosecutors allege contact with Celeste Rivas Hernandez began when she was eleven and became sexual when she was thirteen. They allege Burke paid a thousand dollars to maintain contact after law enforcement intervened, that he allegedly killed her when she threatened to expose the relationship, and that he subsequently ordered tools and materials under a fake identity — with forensic evidence reportedly tying those items to injuries on her remains. Throughout, prosecutors allege he maintained his public career and reportedly deceived those around him about what had occurred.
