In this episode of One Place, Many Voices, series host Nanette Wiser chats with Indian Rocks Beach Historical Museum's Ron Sacra and Jim Laffigan, former IRB council member about the history of IRB. The "Indian Rocks Area Historical Society and Museum" was founded in 1980. Click here for an article from the St. Petersburg Times in 1980 describing how the historical society got its start. They are an enthusiastic group of volunteers who are interested in collecting, preserving and sharing the history of Indian Rocks (an area that originally included what is today Indian Rocks Beach, Indian Shores, and a part of Largo). Our main activity is running the historical museum. We also have periodic potluck luncheons with interesting guest speakers and great fellowship.
