On March 31st, 2007, 32-year-old Nicole Vienneau left her hotel in Hama, Syria, for a day of sightseeing. She was nearing the end of a six-month solo backpacking trip through West Africa and the Middle East, and nothing about that morning suggested it would be any different from the countless others she had spent exploring on her own. Nicole left her belongings behind and walked out of the hotel. She was never seen again. No confirmed sightings. No clear trail. No explanation. Somewhere in Hama, Nicole Vienneau seemingly vanished into thin air.
Listen as we dive into Syria, the case of Nicole Vienneau, and how to stay alive on vacation.
