Melissa in the Morning: ALPR Controversy

A Georgia man is facing kidnapping and other charges after police say he stole a running car with a two-year-old girl still inside. Officers tracked the vehicle using license plate readers and rescued the child within 15 minutes. Police say the toddler was unharmed and reunited with her family. It’s a good example of why license plate readers have value for public safety. We spoke with our law enforcement expert, Gary MacNamara, about the pro’s and con’s of license plate readers.
