The comptroller temporarily paused payments, but the reality of former Connecticut official Kosta Diamantis still receiving a state pension is a bit mind blowing. The international fugitive missed his federal sentencing after reportedly leaving the country. Diamantis was convicted last year on corruption charges tied to his state position. The state had moved to stop his pension payments, but Diamantis is now challenging that action in federal court. Why is Diamantis even allowed to get a pension after being convicted of a crime? We spoke about this with state Senator Jeff Gordon.
