How Caleb Flynn's Mistress Rationalized His Murder Texts

Prosecutors allege Caleb Flynn sent more than 100,000 messages to his mistress in the year before his wife Ashley was found shot to death in their Tipp City, Ohio, home. Among those messages: texts where Flynn allegedly described trying to figure out how to kill Ashley without going to jail. At the same time, prosecutors say, he was sending Ashley warm, loving messages.

Psychotherapist and author Shavaun Scott joins Tony to examine what happens in the mind of a woman who receives messages like that from a married lover. How does someone read detailed murder planning and rationalize it? Is the defense claim that Flynn was simply "appeasing" his mistress psychologically plausible? And what does a therapist see in the split between the man texting his wife love and the man texting his girlfriend about killing her?

Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. His trial is underway in Miami County.
