Melissa in the Morning: Child Deaths Report

A new report from Connecticut’s Office of the Child Advocate shows 67 children died in 2025, down from 83 the year before. But officials are raising concerns about youth suicide. Sixty-two percent of children who died by suicide were under 15, compared with 34 percent in the previous four years. The report also highlights unsafe sleep deaths among infants.
