Where’s Your Clubhouse? – Nick & Jacks Story
⚠️ TRIGGER WARNING: This episode discusses suicide, bereavement and grief. Please take care while listening. If you are struggling, support is available at the end of this description.
In this deeply personal episode of Where’s Your Clubhouse?, Nick Jenkins opens up about the loss of his son, Jack, who died by suicide.
Nick shares the story of Jack’s life, the memories that keep him close, and the impact of losing someone you love. It’s an honest and emotional conversation about grief, fatherhood, mental health and the importance of being there for one another.
But this episode is also about celebrating Jack’s life – the things he loved, the people he touched and the memories that made him the man he's remembered for.
Some of the moments we explore:
Jack’s love of mountain biking, drumming and art.
The stories that capture Jack’s personality, including his mountain biking adventures, taking his dads advice & doing the opposite and the time he spoke at his mum’s funeral.
A special memory of Nick’s boxing night and the bond between father and son.
The reality of grief: no two types of grief are the same, and learning to live with loss.
Why we need to listen more, try to fix less and give people the space to talk.
The importance of checking in on our mates, even when they seem okay.
How we can celebrate the person we’ve lost, not just the circumstances of their death.
Nick’s message to others

Whether you’re struggling yourself or supporting someone else, make time for the conversation. Check in on your mates. And remember that it’s okay to ask for help.
