Caleb Flynn Told a Detective He Felt Accused. Nobody Had Accused Him.

Day 7 of Caleb Flynn’s aggravated murder trial brought the prosecution’s centerpiece — two police interrogation videos filmed on February 16, 2026, the morning Ashley Flynn was found with two gunshot wounds to the back of her head.

Caleb Flynn had been stone-faced for six days. He showed no reaction to Alleigha Botner’s testimony about their alleged affair, the 107,000 text messages, or the AI-generated love songs prosecutors say he made with her voice. When the courtroom played his police interview, Flynn cried. The only person who has moved him in seven days of trial is himself.

Detective Mike Morgan started at 4:28 a.m. with a basic request — Flynn’s text messages with Ashley. The phone had none. Flynn said he deleted them. Prosecutors allege he kept every message with Botner on the same device.

Morgan asked about enemies. Flynn said the family had none. FBI Special Agent Kinzig testified that a murder-for-hire tip surfaced during the investigation, one that allegedly pointed at Flynn. Flynn told Morgan his family had no problems.

Flynn’s intruder theory depended on a side door in the garage. Day 7 testimony established the damage to that door was allegedly visible only from the inside — consistent with staging, not a break-in.

Flynn told Morgan he was asleep by 11:30 p.m. Ashley’s Apple Watch allegedly recorded activity until approximately 2:28 a.m., with a spike around 2:18. Flynn called 911 at approximately 2:30 a.m.

Without being asked, Flynn brought up a handgun from his truck. The weapon that allegedly killed Ashley has never been recovered. He told Morgan he couldn’t describe the gun he admits he owned.

Then Flynn told Morgan it felt like they were pointing at him. He denied domestic violence. Nobody in the room had accused him of anything.

Every answer allegedly pointed back at Caleb Flynn.
