The Three Moments Caleb Flynn's Interrogation Fell Apart

Caleb Flynn never confessed in this room. He was arrested three days later. But he cracked three times, and each one told Detective Morgan the same thing.

The first came when Morgan was explaining next steps. Caleb interrupted: it feels like you guys are pointing it to me. Nobody had made that accusation. He followed it by saying he'd never laid a hand on his wife — answering a question about violence that the detective never asked.

The second was the timeline. In the first interview, Caleb said he froze for two to five minutes after hearing the gunshots. In the second, when Morgan played that number back, it became five seconds. The gap between the shots and the 911 call shrank to nothing.

The third was the gun. His handgun, in his truck console, inside the garage. Console open. Gun gone. Never recovered. The only people who knew the gun was there were his sleeping daughters and his wife — who was dead.
