Richard Allen's Lawyer Told Three Judges a Suspect's Hand Tattoo Matches This

Defense attorney Bob Motta joins me for the part of Richard Allen's Delphi murders appeal his supporters have argued about for years and a jury never got to weigh: the Odinism theory, and the man at its center.

At the Indiana Court of Appeals on September 21, 2026, Mark Leeman named Brad Holder, a man state police looked at in 2017 who has never been charged. Leeman said Holder's voice and appearance were flagged in tips that March, that police accepted a landfill time card as his alibi, and that state police later received something new.

Holder, according to Leeman, had drawn a bind rune on his hand and published it, and that symbol matches the arrangement of sticks on Abby Williams. He described posts of girls posed as if dead with sticks across them. An officer asked to reopen the case, Leeman said, and his boss refused.

The state says none of it belongs in front of a jury because Holder could not have been there. Deputy Attorney General Ellen Meilaender told the panel he was at work in Buffalo, Indiana, 25 miles from the trail, at 2:13 when the girls were confronted and at 2:32 when Libby German's phone went still. She added that the FBI's own analyst saw no clear runes in the sticks, and that the defense's ritual expert could not say what symbol they formed.

Allen is serving 130 years for the murders of Abby Williams and Libby German. The panel has the case under advisement, and a decision could come at any point in the months ahead.
