Melissa in the Morning: Protect College Sports Act

The U.S. Senate passed the Protect College Sports Act, but Connecticut’s two Democratic senators opposed it. The bill would create new rules for name, image and likeness payments, transfers and athlete compensation. The bill now heads to the House. We spoke with Senator Blumenthal about this and a renewed push to pass a road safety bill. It comes following the deaths of Connecticut DOT workers and a tow truck driver. The legislation would increase protections for roadside workers and tow operators, including stronger penalties for drivers who fail to move over.
