Anni Dewani, Part 2: Gugulethu, South Africa

Last week, in Part One of our three-part series on the murder of Anni Dewani, we followed Anni from her life in Sweden to her whirlwind relationship with Shrien Dewani, their lavish wedding in India, and the honeymoon that was supposed to mark the beginning of their life together. Instead, less than 48 hours after arriving in Cape Town, everything changed.
On the night of November 13, 2010, Anni and Shrien were riding through Gugulethu with their driver, Zola Tongo, when two armed men took control of their vehicle. Tongo was forced out. Then Shrien. But Anni was driven away. The following morning, the Volkswagen was found abandoned in Khayelitsha. Inside, police found 27-year-old Anni dead in the backseat.  She had been shot through the neck.
At first, it appeared to be a horrific carjacking that had ended in murder. But investigators were about to discover that the story might not be nearly that simple. Because within days, arrests would be made.  And then someone involved would start talking.n What he told police would turn the investigation completely upside down— and transform Anni Dewani's murder into an international sensation.
This is Part Two: the investigation.
Listen as we dive into South Africa, the case of Anni Dewani, and how to stay alive on vacation.
