The last time Teesside provided a gold medal Olympian was 1912 in Stockholm, when Guisborough's Willie Applegarth was part of the 4 x 100m relay team.

A century later, and we finally have another one. Her name is Kat Copeland and along with Sophie Hosking she won the women's lightweight double sculls at the Olympic rowing lake at Eton Dorney on the 4th August. This is what happened when she spoke to Ali Brownlee on BBC Tees Breakfast.
