Boris Johnson: Tory Leadership Speculation Is 'Cloud Cuckoo Land'

Boris Johnson has told LBC 97.3 that speculation he has discussed plans to challenge for the Conservative leadership is "cloud cuckoo land".

Reports had suggested that Tory MP Zac Goldsmith had offered to step down from his Richmond Park constituency if the coalition makes a U-turn on the third runway at Heathrow, allowing Boris a route back into government.

But the Mayor of London told Nick Ferrari that the reports are wide of the mark.

He told LBC 97.3: "This is all cloud cuckoo land. Of course I’ve had conversations with Zac and with other MPs in London and elsewhere about how to solve the aviation problem.

"I'm absolutely not going to be returning to parliament, I've got to do a job here in London and that’s what I want to do and it’s a massive, engrossing job. http://www.lbc.co.uk/boris-leadership-plot-is-cloud-cuckoo-land-59700
