Terry Wogan on RTE Radio

#radio Recalling the RTE show Hospitals’ Requests Terry Wogan said “I loved doing Hospitals’ Requests, I would have done it every week, if they had let me. It was the beginning of everything for me; from the first, I realised that ad-libbing off cards and letters in between records was something I could do with ease”.

This is Terry reading out requests in 1966. By September of that year, after sending a tape of his work to the BBC, he was offered a chance to present Midday Spin on the Light Programme –Terry in Dublin and the records played in London. A year later he was part of the launch team for the new Radio 1 pop service.
