Hastings Pier Fire - 2 Days On.
@anakin1814 This incident has certainly put Hastings back onto the map & has attracted visitors to the town. It's ironic that it takes a tragedy to do so, but..... It's also brought the townspeople together.
“Death as a career move...” Yes, we’ve talked about this on many topics, haven’t we? I find that “You Can Save Me” sign highly ironic now. But if they rebuild it, perhaps this tragedy is exactly what that area needed to reboost interest? Morbid thought yes, but that’s how it goes. Michael Jackson sold more records in the last 1/2 of 2009 than ever. :(
@kenrg In a perverse kind of way, i've actually enjoyed doing this, over the past few days. The fact that it's something close to home obviously makes a difference. As i said in that blog post. I never would have thought of doing this, or been able to do this, a few years ago.

Many thanks for adding the 'uksm' tag. Your recording has already been added to the UK SoundMap, but we've had to catch up on our acknowledgements due to the large number of contributions received lately.
The Phone Interview.
Clown would have been equally appropriate :) Like you say, as i'm used to a studio environment, that must make a difference. I tend to forget that Claire has an international reputation. She lives near me & until very recently lived, literally, around the corner from me. She's very nice & a real supporter of local music & she's actually putting on her own gig in aid of the pier in December. I'll be there selling the CDs.
Did you say the politician has "more clout" or is "more of a clown"? Comes out the same, in the end, I suppose... I agree that in-person is better for interviews. But, like you, it's because I'm comfortable with the equipment. I suppose some people are a little freaked out when they first see microphones and cameras and mixers and things and would prefer the phone, but I want to see the other guy's eyes. Looking forward to the international link going up to buy the CD - I still can't believe you got Claire Hammill!
