What would you do if your local sports club was under threat of disappearing?

One Cheshire village cricket club has told BBC Radio Stoke it may be forced to close if a planning application to build houses in the next field gets the go ahead.

Aston Cricket Club near Nantwich has been on the land for more than sixty years -- but its committee has been told it probably won't be able to get liability insurance if the homes are constructed just feet away from the pitch boundary.

Our reporter EMMA THOMAS has been to the wicket to meet club chairman, Patrick Beesley....

(Cheshire East Council has told us it doesn't comment on ongoing planning applications, and the matter will be dealt with, on merit, by it's Strategic Planning Board at the appropriate time.)
