Lessons from Laidlaw - the Inquiry into mistakes made in the West Coast mainline re-franchising

In December, the Inquiry into what went wrong at the Ministry of Transport reported, but received pretty inadequate press coverage. Rhion Jones tries to remedy this by reminding members of the Consultation Institute that lessons from this fiasco, and a host of others all pose challenges for those trying to organise controversial consultations. In the spirit of Hogmanay, he draws a parallell with Lord Fraser's 2003 Report into the overspend when the Scots built the Holyrood Parliament. He hopes to continue this discussion in February 13th in London when the Institute holds a Seminar on Stakeholder consultation for "Regulators". Could be interesting!
