The incredibly knowledgeable Martin Fowler sitting in a coracle once used on the River Teifi in Carmarthenshire, West Wales. There used to be 300 of these craft, light enough to be carried on a man's back, keel-less so they could float in three inches of water, and used for catching salmon and sea trout.
