The last time we mentioned Il Mostrico on barganews was way back in November 2004 and that was as Franca Marchi celebrated the re-opening of the Bar -Ristoro Il Mostrico

Since then it has been a closely guarded secret amongst the Barghigiani as Il Mostrico is situated in Renaio, a green oasis at over 1000 metres above sealevel is during the hot summer months, the perfect place to sample freshly cooked pizza and pasta under the centuries old chestnut trees. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place to come …. except not yesterday … the word is out.

They started playing at 6 pm as the pizzas started to come out of the oven and were still playing four hours later as coffee was being served .

The concert was part of the Barga Jazz Festival 2013

Alessandro Rizzardi on mandolin and sax, Fabio Guazzelli on guitar, Keane – bodhràn and percussion, Ugo Menconi on fisarmonica, Leonardo Gnesi – double bass …. and of course, Andrea Gonnella on vocals
