BlueTech Research is pleased to announce the details of the next interactive web-conference in the BlueTech® Webinar Series entitled: Membrane Distillation: after 40 years of research, is MD about to make an impact? The Event will be held on October 25th, 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM EDT; 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM BDT.

Due to energy concerns associated with Reverse Osmosis (RO) desalination, alternatives to the RO membrane process have started to attract attention from scientists and engineers. One of these processes, Membrane Distillation (MD), is the subject of this webinar. Membrane distillation is customarily thought of as a membrane separation process. But while the importance of the membrane should not be dismissed, it is primarily a thermal (evaporative) process.

This BlueTech™ webinar includes presentation from an international panel from the US and Europe. The webinar brings together membrane and water technology experts to discuss benefits, drawbacks and market niche for MD technology. The current status of system designs will be reviewed, and there will be presentations of the different approaches taken and of field results. Finally, there will be a disussion of prospects, highlighting research needs, new applications, and commercial opportunities. The webinar will include a Q&A session to address specific questions from participants.
