Alberto Grossi is a video maker who has been making a series of short films about the destruction of the mountains by the excavation of marble in the marble quarries in the Apuane mountains. Side by side with Alberto in the barganews office and also recorded (in Italiano) in the short conversation was Prof. Elia Pegollo who brought some startling facts to the table about just how much marble was being extracted and at what cost to the environment with a specific focus on the damage to that element which the planet and its inhabitants cannot do without – water.
