An exhibition of work by Sergio Fini and Mario Bargero in the Palazzo C.I.A.F in Gallicano opened this afternoon Sergio Fini died three years ago in 2011 and Mario Bargero at the beginning of this year in April 2013.

Both artists have left behind a body of work numbering thousands of pieces. The wife of Sergio recently mentioned that she had over 800 paintings in her house and Sara Massocco, the companion of Mario Bargero (conversation below) talked about hundreds of sculptures, drawings and paintings scattered around Tuscany and abroad (many of them in Brazil)

News last week of the death of Angelo Roberto Fiori in Castelnuovo who’s prolific output of paintings and drawings now left behind, scattered across a good part of Tuscany and beyond brings to mind again the need that we have in this area for a permanent exhibition of local artists work.

There should be a permanent collection set up somewhere in the area so that the efforts and fruit of the these creative people are not hidden in some dark dusty room somewhere and only brought out in the light of day when somebody puts together the idea for an exhibition like the one now on in Gallicano.
