Elaine Chambers at London Pride - talks to BFBS Radio

Elaine Chambers took part in the London Pride parade at the weekend. She had more reason than most to appreciate the warm reception given to the 120 members of the forces’ contingent by the thousands who lined the route in the capital. Elaine – an officer at the time - was rudely kicked out of the Queen Alexandra's Royal Nursing Corps for being a lesbian. She recalled those unhappier times for BFBS Radio’s Steve Britton and contrasted them with the British Forces approach of today.
