EDU 313: Blogs
Share
This week we’ll be taking a look at the term a “blog”. What is it and why might it be helpful in education? We’ll look at this kind of from two different angels. One from the teacher perspective. Why might you want to keep and maintain a blog? This might help with connecting you to your students, their parents, or fellow teachers. Also, why might you want to encourage, from the student perspective, them to keep a blog? What are the benefits of them maintaining and using a blog for showcasing their own work or reflecting on things from class? What benefits might they gain from that? So throughout this week we’ll look at a couple of different blog examples, how these particular teachers are using it in their classroom, and you’ll also hear from students via a video on why they think blogging is important and what they enjoy and the skillsets they have learned throughout blogging. So this week we’ll jump into better understanding the idea of a blog and again looking at it from both angels - from the teacher perspective and from a student perspective and why this particular tool might be handy in both cases. Good luck and enjoy learning about blogs.
