EDU 313: Podcasting

Whether you realized it or not you’ve actually been engaged with podcasting all semester long. Each week you're able to hear an audio recording of me giving you an overview of what we'll be covering this week. Well this week, it’s your turn. We’ll be taking a look at a couple of different ways to create, share, and locate podcasts that are out there for you to use. You guys will be taking some time to create your own podcasts to share with others as well as using iTunes to locate existing podcasts that are out there that may be helpful for you to use in your classroom. When thinking about podcasting it's important to look at it from two lenses. One, as a teacher. How can you use podcasting to connect to your students, inform them, talk to parents, etc.? But also how can students use this tool to record their own voice to then share that with others? How can they use that to show their own learning or experiences or opinions about something that's going on in the classroom? So be sure to look at this from both lenses. Both you as a teacher, and how it can benefit you to create podcast but also what skills can students gain from creating their own podcast and sharing those with others. So this week again we will be looking at podcasting - a couple different ways to create your own and locate existing podcasts to use in the classroom.
