James Baker is a 25 year old Northern Irish artist who has been painting since he was eleven.

Despite his immense talent he has complex medical problems and is confined to a wheelchair spending most of his life in and out of hospital. He has never been to school however had a tutor from the Belfast Hospital School and this is whom he got his first introduction to art.

James has exhibited widely and have had several sell out exhibitions.

A passionate man with a big dream James wanted to raise funds for charity Helping Hand which is the official charity for the Children’s hospital. His idea was to to paint portraits of local personalities and celebrities and exhibit and sell them on behalf of the charity. His mum Susan is on the Board of Trustees for Helping Hand which is based in the children’s hospital (or just ‘children’s’ as James likes to call it) and they do a lot of work for the hospital: buying equipment, research and supporting families.
