RSA Weekly Stats 7th January 2015

I’m Liz O’Donnell, chairperson of the Road Safety Authority, and this week, I’m reading the Road Safety Numbers.

This week, the number is 196. The number of people who died on the road last year in Ireland. That’s 196 families and communities coming to terms with the shattering news that someone they love is now dead.

That’s six more than the previous year. But together, we can do something about it. If we each just change one thing, like looking out for pedestrians and cyclists, we will lower this number.

Remember… these numbers are real people. Don’t be one of them.
