Which one would you rather hear? 1. “That’s a really stupid idea.” 2. “I don’t agree with your idea. Here’s why . . . .” The answer should be obvious. Nobody would enjoy hearing #1. People can disagree and still respect each other. They can argue without attacking. They can stick up for themselves without putting each other down. And sometimes they can turn disagreements into agreements, just by being respectful.

Today If I disagree with someone, I’ll be polite about it.
