“My training as a painter helped me as a writer.” Mark Strand
Mark Strand is a poet. From 1990-91, he was America’s Poet Laureate. How could knowing about painting help his writing? Think about it. Creative people make connections other people don’t. (A Swiss mountain climber named George de Mestral picked burrs off his pants and invented Velcro.)
