Tom tells Stockport Focus reporter Jane Lomas hows he spent more than a month on the streets of Stockport, sleeping in McDonalds and even on the steps of Stockport Homes in the hope of finding help. Now, with the private hostel he was staying in closing down, he describes what it's like to be facing the threat of homlessness once again.

A Stockport Homes spokesperson said: "We are aware of the shared accommodation scheme that has recently closed down, which was a privately run guest house, and we have had a dedicated member of staff working with the residents there for some time to try and help them explore other options.

We have so far re-housed seven of the fifteen residents with the others advising us that they have made their own personal private arrangements with family and friends, or taken up other options. If any of those arrangements have now broken down, we are of course happy to assist.”
