Greenlandic seal skin.....as sustainable as it gets.

Denmark is urging the European Union to end its ban on seal product imports from Greenland. The moratorium was imposed in 2009 as a result of public outrage at images of baby seals being clubbed to death in Canada. But the Inuit hunters of the world’s largest island insist their methods are humane. They are desperate to increase trading at a time when climate change is hitting their ability to survive. Greenland is a Danish territory, and is almost wholly dependent on financial support from Copenhagen as it struggles to stand alone. As Malcolm Brabant reports from the Jakobshavn glacier in Greenland, climate change is having a mixed impact on the subsistence economy.
