Groundbreaking report authors on Greenland's pledge to stop child abuse

Greenland is promising to tackle the problem of child sex abuse after a report disclosed that one in every five girls is a victim. The report by a Danish social welfare institute, also discovered that one in three young people had been pressured into having sex against their will. For years sexual abuse has been a fact of life in Greenland’s remote communities and one that has been endured in silence. But now the taboo about even discussing the subject has been broken, and for the first time, the extent of the problem has been made public. The report is by psychologist Else Kristensen and political scientist Saddartha Baviska are Denmark's National Centre for Social Research
