The World Health Organisation warns that without urgent additional funding, healthcare services to Iraq's displaced face closure within days.

There are perhaps as few terms grimly dispassionate as 'Internally Displaced Persons'; they are the flotsam and jetsam of conflict, bereft even of refugee status. In Iraq there perhaps a million of them, many having fled the surging tide of ISIS. Now even the support they get from the international community is about to dry up; in a matter of days, says the World Health Organisation, it may have to shut down its health care efforts across Iraq.
