The chief executive of JCB has told BBC Radio Stoke the company is facing "years" of downturn on the worldwide construction industry.
The Staffordshire-based firm now makes an annual profit of three hundred million pounds.
And today the company turned 70 - it's celebrating by giving all staff a days holiday.
