Eulogy of Jonathan by Fabian (Best Friend)

I've known wong for a Gd 18years and apart from him actually disliking me from the start (cos he thought I wasn't steady enough to be his Gd friend), the 17years onwards, we were really really close. Looking back, it almost seem like we were gay partners. We'd meet almost everyday and even spent time till 7am as he could only go home at that time when his mum wakes up as he didn't have a set of house keys. He'll call me when he's awake and sent the same text everyday "wassup". That in its own meaning is, I'm getting up now, what's the plan? Let's do something. I'm pretty sure I spent more time with him than his gf and maybe that's the reason why for a long long time I never had a gf! Whenever we were on a trip overseas, his favorite thing to do was to leave the bathroom door opened while taking a dump because he wanted me to continue chatting with him while he did his business. Wong was always ready to have fun. every new year's party that he organised, he'll spend so much on the party packs just so that everyone will have fun. The spending got to a point that worried me and I had to step in to do the buying because he simply just wanted everythin from the party shop. That being said, he had a very responsible side. His best mate from his airforce days, Tommy, was just mentioning to me yesterday that in his whole 10years in service, he had 0 MC. Even if we partied till the wee hours, he'd still make sure he went to camp in the morning. In sch, the barker boys had a group called goodfellas and this tight bunch of frens each chose and animality and wong chose dog because of loyalty and he embraced this trait being loyal to his frens, his gf, and God above all things. Then at some point in his life, he started to choose God. I remembered at 1 point, he was sharing with me that there was once, he couldn't get a parking lot for a long time and he prayed for a parking space and soon after, he had a lot. I still remember my response, I said, mate you siao ah, how can that be because of God. And he replied me, bian, if that's not God at work, then what? He gave praise to God even for the smallest of things and he related to God in every small way he could. We all know Wong to be someone full of love full of fun.

We all know wong may not have been 1 who is very explicit about his emotions or love. I believe I've been greatly privileged and honoured to be one whom he shares almost anything and everything with. I will like to take the opportunity now to share with some of you the thoughts that he has shared with me. To auntie hwee lan, he has always loved you and have always been grateful and thankful for all that you have done for him, for the constant fully topped up cashcards that you always gave him, the supply of parking coupons he had. He knew you always looked out for him since young.‎ For offering to give him your savings for his studies in France, he greatly appreciated it but refused your offer as he wanted you to keep it for yourself. To Uncle G, he was always afraid to speak to you because he never had much concrete plans and he knew you'll qn him but he was grateful that after 1 xmas dinner, he had a very good talk with you and found that he can confide in you for his career plans. He was also very grateful and blessed that you and your wife gave him a big angbao with euros for him to settle down in france. To his sisters, aileen Justine and Laura, he was very happy that over the past years, he grew so much closer to all of you, he was really proud. Always teling me about aileen and your accomplishments in your choice of career, Justine, about such a great teacher you are, and Laura about you and your crazy passion for dancing. Joel, he was so proud that you actually are 1 of those who really loved army life and wanted to excel and he was sad that you had to be down graded because he knew you didn't want to be Chao keng soldier. To timmy, he knows that he doesn't communicate too much with you, but he sure is damn proud of you and your bowling. He was absolutely ravving abt you being accepted into sports sch on bowling accolades. To his paRents, he was glad he managed to deepen his r/s with both of you over the years, even after he sold his car, you guys offered to give him a lift when he needed 1. To his cell group members, he always gave top priority to his cell grps and loved the company he had there. Leon and Eeling, he was totally grateful and blessed by you guys reaching out to him to help him pursue his studies in france. To his Sunday school kids, he has always found an immense level of joy, looking forward to his time with you guys every sunday and always excited for every church camp that he participates in. To Jia en and all in charlottes grace, the amount of fun and joy he had working with you guys was always on his lips. To Jane, he has spoken so much about you and was really praising God for having met you and managed to have you share his days with. Iooking back at the photos, he has never smiled that much in the short time with you compared to the 18years with me. I'm sure I left out many more whom he has mentioned but I'm sure you guys know who you are. In closing, this is the most simple most genuine guy, God fearing and loved god. I know that you are in Gd hands now and do continue to pray and look over all of us.
