“I wasn’t lucky. I deserved it.” Margaret Thatcher

Mrs. Thatcher was Britain’s first woman Prime Minister. For more than ten years, she was a powerful world leader. Many successful people, especially girls and women, don’t handle their success very well. When others ask them, “How did you get where you are?” they answer, “Oh, I was lucky, I guess.” As Barbara Lewis says, “Luck is just another word for work.” If you’re successful, it’s not because you’re lucky. It’s because you’re talented and you work hard.

Today I’ll take credit for my success.
