Fear can feel like a wild animal breathing down your neck. When you’re scared, your heart and thoughts race, your palms sweat, you breathe rapidly, and you may get butterflies in your stomach. All of these physical and mental reactions, though normal, can make it hard to cope. If you’re scared about something, take several long, slow, deep breaths. Once you feel calmer (and you will), you’ll be in a better position to handle your fear.
TODAY I’ll breathe slowly and deeply.
