"A pound a week": Staffordshire tax rise plan explained (with a little help from The Beatles)...

If you pay council tax to Staffordshire County Council there's a good chance you'll see your bill go up from April -- to the tune of a pound a week for the average household.

The authority has proposed a five per cent rise in the charge -- the majority of which it says is to cover the spiralling cost of elderly care.

The plan will be voted on by councillors next month.
