How civil war is destroying natural habitats in South Sudan

This International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of Environment in War and Armed Conflict, the #SouthSudan Ministry of Wildlife, Conservation and Tourism is asking the public and those engaged in combat to protect the environment.
The spokesperson in the Ministry, Khamis Adhieng Ding says unplanned logging, burning of bushes and water pollution are some of the challenges the country is currently facing.

In November 2001, the UN General Assembly declared 6 November of each year as the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict.
Also known as the 'World Day to Protect the Environment in War' – it seeks to rally global efforts to use dialogue, mediation and preventive diplomacy, to stop natural resources from fueling and financing armed conflict.
