“Take calculated risks. That is quite different from being rash.” - George S. Patton

When you’re considering taking a risk, ask yourself these questions:

  1. What are the risks involved?
  2. What have I got to gain?
  3. What have I got to lose?
  4. Do the things I might gain justify the things I might lose? Do the positives outweigh the negatives?
  5. What are my chances of succeeding?

If there’s time—if you don’t need to decide quickly whether to take the risk—talk it over with someone you trust. Get his or her perspective.

TODAY I’ll take a calculated risk.
