DAVE HART & THE PIRATE IMG NETWORK!

Season 1, Episode 31,   Aug 15, 2018, 04:42 AM

With the ECU Athletics Department seeking answers and direction in mid-March of this year, Chancellor Cecil Staton and the powers that be decided to bring in a familiar face for many Pirate fans--one who understood the unique challenges that the job features, had the extensive experience and expertise to best assess the situation while also providing some much-needed hope for Pirate Nation.

Dave Hart, who was at ECU for more than a decade and served as AD from 1987-1995 when many great strides were made in various aspects of the program, was tabbed as Special Advisor to the Chancellor for Athletics.  Over the last several months, Hart has performed a "deep dive" into the ECU Athletics Department to assess the program's current financial situation and formulate a plan(s) to move it forward.

Recently, we had the chance to discuss those topics, but also had the opportunity to reflect on some of his best memories from the 1991 football season and his previous stint in Greenville.

While Jeff Charles--who is entering his 31st season as The Voice of the Pirates--was unavailable due to being on vacation in Michigan, he will rejoin The Sports Objective in the coming weeks (after already being on this Spring) to discuss the 2018 season.

This episode DOES FEATURE chats with three longtime members of the Pirate IMG Network, who help make listening to ECU Football an excellent experience!

Kevin Monroe, former ECU defensive back from 1995-99, is entering his 15 year with the network and 10th straight as color analyst.  "K Mo", an alum of Greenville Rose HS, will talk about becoming a Pirate and some of his best ECU memories.

Marty Feurer, sideline reporter for more than 25 years, talks about the challenges of interviewing an animated Coach Logan and more!

Last, but certainly not least, we discuss what it is like for David Horn--Pirate IMG Network Engineer and Producer--to perform his job as he takes us behind the scenes at various venues and talks about a special highlight tribute he produced for the 1991 team set to Kenny Rogers' "When You Put Your Heart In It"!

Listen to David Horn's "When You Put Your Heart In It" Tribute that was on the "We Believe" video after the 1991 season!
