On the night of July 17, 1996 a Boeing 747 headed to Paris experienced a sudden change of plans, as it suddenly plummeted to the ground, killing all 230 souls on board. It would take years for analysis to reveal a suspected cause of the crash, a cause that to this day remains in question.
